Martin Taylor CEO
I am delighted to be the CEO of New Zealand Aged Care Association and represent members who provide essential health care services to thousands of New Zealanders everyday.
It is not well understood that all aged residential care in New Zealand is provided by the private sector in around 730 long stay residential care facilities and hospitals.
However, it is well accepted that the rising needs of New Zealanders are putting increasing pressures on the health budget which never seems to quite meet everyone’s expectations with the accepted wisdom suggesting this situation is going to get worse.
By any measurement the people New Zealand Aged Care Association represents provide an essential community service that must be supported in order to provide the health services New Zealanders need in the 21st century.
The government and private providers must work together as this is the only way to provide all New Zealanders with the health care choices they need throughout their lives.
New Zealand Aged Care Association is an organisation committed to working with the government and we are looking forward to building an active relationship with our decision makers based on shared goals and trust.
