Training and Professional Development Days
NZACA offers a number of training and professional development days for caregivers, enrolled/registered nurses and managers. These days are held throughout New Zealand at various times of the year.
Caregiver Education Seminars 2012
Hamilton, Tauranga, Invercargill, Nelson, Napier, Whangarei, Auckland, Wanganui, Christchurch, Lower Hutt, Rotorua
These seminars are a way of recognising the important role that caregivers have in aged care. This is not only an opportunity for staff to learn new skills but also a chance for them to share what they have learned with the rest of your facility team.
Note: all seminars will start promptly at 9.30am and finish at 3.45pm (Registration: tea and coffee at 9.15am. Lunch is provided)

First Aid Course
Run by St John - Designed for the Aged Care Sector
Tauranga, Cambridge, Auckland - Mt Wellington, Whangarei, Palmerston North, Napier, Masterton, Auckland - Takapuna, Lower Hutt.
Topics include: CPR, Breaks, Burns, Choking, Falls, Head injuries, Skin tears.
Completion of this First Aid – Level One course qualifies students as a trained first aid person as described in the Guidance Notes published by the Department of Labour to help employers comply with Health and Safety in Employment Legislation.
Note: Course runs 8.30am - 4.00pm. Tea and coffee supplied, bring your own lunch. All participants will receive a St John First Aid Level 1 certificate.
