Report: Energy use reduction survey
We are pleased to present the ACA-EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) report on ‘Energy use reduction survey’ which is the first widespread survey of energy use within the aged residential care sector in the country. The survey carried out by BERL, received over 320 responses in total. This report summarises what we heard from the respondents about their overall energy usage by source, the purpose of each energy source used by the care facility, and what past, current, and future actions are being undertaken by the care facilities to reduce their energy usage.
This is the first such energy benchmarking survey to be carried out in Aotearoa New Zealand, and we hope that the information presented here will be useful for ARC facilities to compare their own energy usage and be inspired by the actions taken by other facilities to reduce their energy usage.
