Aged Care Price Index December 2018

Statistics New Zealand has released the latest Aged Care Price Index[1] (ACPI) for the December 2018 quarter. The ACPI rose 2. 5% from September 2018 to December 2018.

Rest homes need to keep up with pay

After several years’ hard lobbying for immigration policies that enable rather than hinder aged residential care providers, it seems the government has come to its senses.

Aged residential care occupancy for 30 September 2018 quarter

The national occupancy figure at 30 September 2018 is 87. 6% (Figure 1, red line). This is effectively the same as the 87. 7% recorded in 30 June 2018[1].

The national occupancy figure at 31 December 2017 is 86. 9% (Figure 1, red line).   This is unchanged from 30 September[1] and is very similar to the 87.
