Navigating the Reform Journey in Aged Care
27 January 2022 update – Conference rescheduled.
The pandemic has again thwarted the NZACA’s efforts to run our rescheduled 2021 Conference in Christchurch in March. Unfortunately, the move to Red on the COVID-19 Protection Framework has left us no option but to postpone the event for a second time as gatherings can now be no more than 100 people. The health and safety of all those involved was another major contributing factor in our decision not to hold conference at this time.
We are disappointed to have to share this news with the many delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors who have signed up and supported our event. We had assembled a quality line up of speakers, exhibitors, and social events over the three-days and, after putting in a huge effort into making the rescheduled conference happen, our team was excited to deliver this event to you all.
However, there is a silver lining in that the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) and the NZACA have agreed in principle to join forces and host a grand Conference at the same venue, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre from 21-25 August this year. We are yet to work through the detail of the combined event, but what you can expect is a quality programme over several days, a large trade exhibition, and a night of celebration at the Gala Dinner and the Excellence in Care Awards evening.
We appreciate many of you will have already made travel bookings for Christchurch in March. The Association has arranged with the preferred hotels to transfer bookings without cancellation fees, but you must contact the hotel directly to arrange this. (https://conference.nzaca.org.nz/accommodation/).
Delegate and exhibitor registrations will be automatically transferred to the August event. If you cannot attend we will provide a full refund. Please bear with us while we work though the transfer and refund process – it will take some time.
In the meantime, we do hope you will support the grand Conference in Christchurch. It is set to be bigger, bolder, and better than anything before!
The RVA will be in contact with its members next week and if you are an NZACA member please direct any queries to June Murugan, Events and Marketing, at email@example.com.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Conference is brought to you by the NZ Aged Care Association Education Trust.
