Careerforce has introduced an Apprenticeship in Diversional Therapy which is a modular programme towards a NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4. This programme can be fees free under the Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund.
In addition, it is eligible for the Government’s Apprenticeship Boost, paid monthly to the employer – at $1,000 a month for each apprentice in their first year of training, and $500 a month for each apprentice in their second year of training. Employers can receive up to a maximum of $16,000 for each apprentice they employ. NZACA is working on how to extend apprenticeships to Health Care Assistants.
