Nominations are now open for the following positions on the ACA board:

• Chairperson
• Northern Region (2 positions)
• Central Region
• Lower Southern Region

Terms are for two years.

Any member can put in a nomination for the position of the Chair, however only members in their respective region can nominate for the regional positions.

Each nominee must be nominated and seconded by financial members of the Association, from different facilities to that of the person being nominated.

Members who have not paid their annual subscriptions in full at the time of voting are ineligible to vote (members who pay by monthly instalments must be paid in full up to and including the month prior to the general meeting).

Elections

If there is only one nominee for a position, that person shall be appointed to the board.

An election is required if there are two or more nominations for a position. In the event of an election, voting will open Wednesday 4 September and close COB Friday 27 September.

Affiliate and life members

Affiliate and life members are not entitled to vote or nominate officers.

Large Operator votes

Any Member who is a Large Operator may vote either for the Regional Branch Representative for their region, or for a Large Operators’ Representative.

Each Large Operator who has elected to vote for a Large Operators’ Representative is entitled to vote for one Large Operators’ Representative only. The number of votes will be determined by the formula set out in the Rules of the New Zealand Aged Care Association, clause 6.5.

Only Large Operators who have elected to vote for a Large Operators’ Representative are entitled to nominate candidates for the Large Operators’ Representative board positions.
