Simon Wallace
Simon is the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Aged Care Association. Simon is responsible to the NZACA Board for the leadership and management of NZACA’s strategy, policy, operations, membership and staff.
It is Simon’s job to make sure the interests of his members and the aged residential care sector are heard by government, public sector agencies and influencers across the spectrum. As well as active involvement and engagement with members, his day to day work involves lobbying government and other political parties, advancing the sectors’ interests with officials, preparing and presenting submissions and actively fronting media as the spokesperson for the sector.
Simon started in the role in June 2015 after nearly nine years leading the policy, advocacy and insight activities for the Tourism Industry Association. Before that he was a ministerial health advisor in the Beehive.
